Well… what can I say. This picture just about sums up this weekend.
It was just not meant to be.
Lots of positives to take away from this weekend - the gap to the front boys is coming down, even with bike problems so it shows we are heading in the right direction (bearing in mind this is only my sixth race weekend on the bike let alone a Ducati 🤯).
Race 1:
A reasonable P6 after dropping to P13 on lap one and realising my shock was 5mm out.
The team put it all right for race 2 with a few other changes.
Race 2:
I got another rubbish start dropping to P9 and managed to get to P5 by the start/finish straight gaining rapidly on the front four. As I got to the Melbourne Loop I was on the exit winding the throttle on and next second there is no power and the bike completely cut out making me tuck the front and throwing me to the ground.
I’ve done my pinky finger in.
I want to say a huge thank you to everyone for their help this weekend. We are getting there and the times are there just need that last piece to the puzzle… which is some luck 🍀.
